4 Reasons to Wear Compression Socks

Compression socks are becoming more noticeable on the athletic scene. You may have seen them being used by those at the Olympics or by athletes at your local gym. While they are beneficial for pro-athletes, they also have several benefits for men and women alike, in all walks of life.


Expecting mothers often experience swelling in their legs due to higher blood volumes in their body and a change in hormones. Swelling can result in aching and discomfort with day-to-day tasks and can become more noticeable in the third trimester.

Compression socks are a safe way (for both mom and baby) to reduce swelling. Medical grade compression socks can be worn at work, home and throughout the evening. It is always recommended that this be discussed with a doctor before making any purchases.


A common suggestion people hear before taking an extended flight or train ride is to make sure they get up and walk around during their travels to increase blood flow. Wearing compression socks on the way to your destination is essentially that same suggestion.
