How the product works
Mepore can be used by lay persons under supervision of health care professionals.
1. Cleanse the wound in accordance to clinical practice.
2. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly. Usage of moisturizers, gels or ointments on the skin surrounding the wound may affect the adhesion and should be avoided.
3. Remove the release liners and apply the sticky side to the skin without stretching the dressing. Ensure that the absorbent pad covers the wound.
4. Gently press the border to ensure proper adhesion to the skin.
Upon removal grasp the edge and slowly peel the dressing from the skin in the direction of hair growth.
Care should be taken to ensure that Mepore is not applied under tension, to prevent shear forces causing damage to the skin. When applying over joints be careful to apply in such a way that it does not impair flexibility of the joint. After some surgical interventions excessive swelling may occur. In such case it could be better to use a more flexible dressing in order to minimise skin tension.
Mepore should be change before the dressing is fully saturated, at signs of leakage or as indicated by clinical practice.
Disposal should be handled according to local environmental procedures.Precautions
