Vicair® Technology
 
Vicair Technology uses air filled "SmartCells" – which offer a unique combination of skin protection and positioning. The SmartCells in each cushion compartment shift and deform individually and together to adjust to the body. 
Vicair O2 cushion compartments are designed to provide stability and therefore positioning possibilities. Each compartment is filled with just the right amount of SmartCells, however, every compartment can also be adjusted to fit individual needs by removing or adding SmartCells. Adjustments can be made while the client remains seated.
 
Vicair® cushions are designed for performance, comfort, and ease of use, making them a strong choice for users who need reliable pressure relief and positioning support. They are ready to use right away, featuring redesigned Vicair SmartCells that are softer and thinner than before, allowing the user to immerse more deeply into the cushion for improved comfort and pressure distribution.
These cushions require very little maintenance once properly adjusted. Unlike traditional air cushions, there is no need to worry about leaks or re-inflation because the air is encapsulated within the SmartCells. Adjustments can even be made while the user is sitting on the cushion, reducing the need for frequent transfers. The SmartCells conform to the seating surface and help distribute pressure away from sensitive areas such as the sacrum, coccyx, and ischial tuberosities, which helps reduce the risk of Pressure Ulcers and minimizes shear forces.
 
Vicair cushions are also extremely lightweight, typically ranging from 1.25 to 1.8 pounds, helping users keep the overall weight of their mobility system low and making daily handling and transfers easier. In addition, they offer a highly adjustable seating surface that can accommodate or help correct orthopaedic conditions such as pelvic obliquity and posterior pelvic tilt. The number of SmartCells in each compartment can be increased or reduced over time, allowing for gradual and gentle positioning adjustments if full correction is not immediately tolerated.
